About Pui Pui Molcar
Pui Pui Molcar follows guinea pig cars who eat, panic and help their drivers. The first run is 12 shorts of about three minutes from January 2021. Driving School adds 12 more shorts from October 2022 with new teachers and licenses. The CG film Molcar the Movie MOLMAX opened in Japan in November 2024 and played widely in 2025.
Director Tomoki Misato made the stop motion with felt pups, while the film shifts to CG. The shorts do not need order, but Driving School gags land better after the first run, and the movie reuses school faces.
Good to know
Watch the 2021 shorts, then Driving School, then the MOLMAX movie. The shorts are standalone, so strict chronology is not the point. The movie is the only entry that benefits from seeing the school cast first, which is why it sits last. The felt texture of the first runs still reads clearly against the smooth CG of the film.
