About Sunday Without God
Sunday Without God follows Ai Astin, a young gravekeeper in a world where births stopped and the dead linger, opening July 2013 with 12 episodes. After her village dies, she travels with gunman Hampnief, doll maker Julie and witch Scar, burying restless dead across ruined towns.
The season adapts Kimihito Irie light novel arcs in broadcast order, closing with Ortus school choices and afterlife answers that stand alone. Watch the 12 episodes straight through in order. No sequel or film continues the run, so the single Madhouse TV season is the complete anime story with novel extras optional. The pacing stays steady, with each part adding faces while keeping the core tone clear.
Good to know
Watch the 12 episodes from 2013 in broadcast order, since each town visit builds Ai views on death and burial rites. Episodes run self contained at first, then link tightly from the middle Ortus school arc onward. The Madhouse art keeps gravekeeper tools clear across arcs. No second season was produced, so the light novels are the only follow up beyond the TV close.
