Welcome to the NHK follows Tatsuhiro Sato, a 22-year-old shut-in convinced a conspiracy keeps him isolated, and Misaki, the girl who offers to cure him through nightly park meetings. Studio Gonzo animated the story as 24 episodes under director Yusuke Yamamoto, airing from July to December 2006.
Good to know
The anime changes plot points and the ending of Tatsuhiko Takimoto's 2002 novel, and the manga version diverges as well. Each version stands alone, so the anime needs no companion viewing.
