Xabungle Watch Order

Xabungle from the 50-episode 1982 TV run through the 1983 Xabungle Graffiti compilation film. Watch the series first, since the film condenses Jiron's desert trek with new footage and works only as a recap.

About Xabungle

Combat Mecha Xabungle ran 50 episodes from February 6, 1982 to January 29, 1983 on TV Asahi with Jiron Amos chasing breakers across the Zola wasteland for the Iron Gear. Yoshiyuki Tomino directed a lighter turn after Ideon with Western comedy beats. Xabungle Graffiti arrived in 1983 as a compilation with new scenes bridging arcs.

Sunrise animated both. No sequel series or OVA has been made. The 50 episodes plus one film form a closed desert run with no spinoffs in the list. The show's walker machines and music gags carry the whole length.

Good to know

Series first is the whole guide, since Graffiti assumes you know the Iron Gear crew. The film cuts subplots and adds bridge animation, so series-only viewers lose nothing by skipping it. Expect episodic trader and Innocent plots that only pay off late. With Tomino moved on, the 1983 film remains the last Xabungle screen entry.
