About American Dragon: Jake Long
American Dragon follows Jake Long balancing skate-park life with fire-breathing dragon duties protecting New York's magical creatures. The Disney series ran 24 episodes from January 2005 with Gramps training him.
The second season ran 31 segments from 2006 with redesigned art and the Huntsgirl romance deepening, closing in 2007. Watch season one first for the origin and the Huntsclan setup, then season two. The art change between years is the famous caveat: same story, new look. Jake's dragon training escalates each season regardless.
Good to know
Air order is story order across both seasons. The Huntsgirl arc spans the whole run and only resolves in season two, so starting late breaks it. The season-two redesign swapped character models wholesale, which still divides fans but changes nothing structurally. The run is complete with no revival announced.
