About Basil Brush
Basil Brush is Ivan Owen fox puppet from the 1968 BBC run with hosts and guests through 1980 in variety sketches, then Michael Hayes and later voices in the 2002 CBBC flat share revival with Stephen, Dave, and Anil to 2007. The 1968 run built quick gags, the 2002 run added sitcom flat plots with catchphrases.
Each run restarts Basil in a new house rather than continuing prior endings. Watch the 1968 original for the variety origin, then the 2002 revival for the flat era, since the fox persona carries but plots reset between eras.
