About Carmen Sandiego
Netflix's Carmen Sandiego (2019 to 2021) reboots the edutainment thief as a hero: Carmen uses her VILE training to rob the criminals, chased by ACME's Agent Devineaux across four seasons of globe-trotting heists. Each episode teaches real geography through the chase.
Seasons 1 through 3 build the VILE conspiracy in order, and season 4 closes it. The interactive film To Steal or Not to Steal (2020) slots between seasons 2 and 3 as a side heist. Release order is the whole guide; the show serializes its mythology while keeping each caper self-contained.
Good to know
The interactive film's choices change the middle of its story but converge on one ending, so any path through it counts. Earlier Carmen versions (the 1990s game shows, the 1994 cartoon) share only the premise and need no viewing. The 2021 fourth season was announced as the final one, and the story ends properly rather than on a cliffhanger. The live-action film in development sits outside this continuity.
