About Asterix
Asterix films all reset the indomitable Gaulish village against Rome with a new potion plot, so any entry works alone. The 1967 Gaul and 1968 Cleopatra animated classics set the tone, and the 1976 Twelve Tasks remains the only original story of that era.
Mission Cleopatra from 2002 is the beloved live-action peak, while the 2014 Mansions of the Gods and 2018 Magic Potion rebooted the look in CGI. Middle Kingdom from 2023 and the 2025 Big Fight miniseries continue the line. The Nubia film is dated December 2026. Tour in release order.
Good to know
There is no shared continuity since live-action casts change every film and animated versions reboot the look. Release order across the essentials keeps the craft upgrades in context. The 2025 Big Fight miniseries runs five episodes on Netflix. The Kingdom of Nubia is dated December 2, 2026 in France. Start with the 1967 original or jump to Mission Cleopatra for the live-action peak.
