About Casper
Casper began with Famous Studios theatrical shorts from 1945 about the friendly ghost befriending the living. The New Casper Cartoon Show (1963) and Casper and the Angels (1979) carried TV eras, while the 1995 Universal film gave Casper the Whipstaff manor origin. The Scary Trio films of the late 1990s and Casper's Scare School (2006 film plus 2009 series to 2012) rebooted around the school.
Each version resets Casper's uncles and the Ghostly Trio dynamics with no shared timeline, so every run starts clean. No new series has been announced beyond Scare School's close, leaving the manor quiet on screen.
Good to know
Start with the 1995 film for the most complete origin telling, then the Scare School series as the modern school run. The theatrical shorts work as history in any order with their seven-minute scares. Later versions reuse the Trio with new voices, so treat each as its own Whipstaff rather than chapters.
