About City of Ghosts
City of Ghosts is a hybrid docu-fiction series where the Ghost Club kids interview real Los Angeles residents about neighborhood history. Each of the six episodes centers on a different area, from Venice to Koreatown, blending animation with documentary audio.
The episodes are standalone, but watching in release order gives the gentlest onboarding since the first episode explains the club format. Creator Elizabeth Ito built it as a love letter to the city rather than a serialized plot, so there is no wrong order after that.
Good to know
Release order works as story order because the show is episodic with no continuing arc, so no chronological alternative is listed. The single 2021 season holds six episodes aimed at younger viewers but grounded in real local history. No second season or follow up has been announced, which keeps this a short complete watch.
