About DOTA: Dragon's Blood
DOTA: Dragon's Blood (2021 to 2022) adapts Valve's MOBA into a serialized fantasy: Davion the Dragon Knight fuses with the eldritch Slyrak, while Mirana's quest for stolen lotuses collides with warring gods. Three Books of eight episodes each form one continuous story.
Watch the Books in order; the show never recaps and the god politics compound fast. Game knowledge helps with names but the plot is original, so non-players can follow it. Studio Mir's animation peaks in the dragon battles. Book 3 ends the saga's arc while leaving the world open, and no fourth Book has been announced.
Good to know
The Books released as 2021, 2022 and 2022, so the whole saga arrived in under two years: a fast, dense watch. Terrorblade's schemes span all three Books and reward attention. The show invents personalities for mostly voiceless game heroes, which game fans either love or dispute. Valve's hands-off approach shows in the anime-original lore. The ending closes Davion's story while the wider war continues offscreen.
