About Iyanu
Iyanu follows orphan Iyanu unlocking divine powers in Yorubaland. Season 1 (2025) runs 10 episodes from April 5, 2025 on Cartoon Network and April 6 on Max. Film Age of Wonders (2025) runs as prequel 500 years before, airing August 30, 2025 and listed as S1E11 on Max. Season 2 (2026) runs 10 episodes from March 21, 2026 to May 23, 2026. Film War of Twin Princes (2026) runs as S2 prequel from July 11, 2026.
Lion Forge animated the Roye Okupe comics with a Yoruba writers room. Both films were greenlit May 19, 2025 with season 2 and all released. No third season has been renewed. Watch S1, Age, S2, War in release order, since prequels spoil who lives.
Good to know
Release order beats chronological here, since both films assume you know Iyanu, Biyi and Toye fates. Chronologically Age comes first and War sits mid S2, best saved for rewatch. Max lists Age as episode 11, so do not let the numbering trick you into timeline order first. Treat War of Twin Princes as latest released, with no S3 dated.
