About Pink Panther
The Pink Panther began with Blake Edwards's 1963 film about Inspector Clouseau, played by Peter Sellers, chasing the diamond thief. Sellers headlined five sequels through Trail of the Pink Panther (1982) after his death, with Alan Arkin, Ted Wass, Roger Moore and Steve Martin later holding the trenchcoat. DePatie-Freleng's animated shorts ran from 1964 with the silent cat over Mancini's theme.
The 1993 TV series and Pink Panther and Pals (2010) carried the cartoon eras with new voices. No new film or series has been announced, leaving the diamond quiet on both sides of the camera.
Good to know
Watch the Sellers films in release order first for the Clouseau arc, since the character's legend assumes the full run. The animated shorts work any time as silent-era treats with no required placement. Later Clouseaus and the cartoon series share only the theme and the diamond, safe as extras after the Sellers run.
