About The Smurfs
Hanna-Barbera's Smurfs ran nine seasons and 256 episodes on NBC from 1981 to 1989, adapting Peyo's comics. The show stayed episodic throughout, so its run splits cleanly into an early block and a later block of new characters and time travel.
Sony's live-action mix films (2011, 2013) gave way to the fully animated Lost Village (2017). Nickelodeon's CG series began in 2021 with three confirmed seasons, and Paramount's musical reboot Smurfs (2025) stars Rihanna as Smurfette.
