About Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been rebooted so many times that the usual watch order problem barely applies. The 1987 cartoon, the 2003 series, the 2012 Nickelodeon series and Rise of the TMNT are four separate continuities, each with its own take on the origin, the villains and the tone, and none of them connect to each other.
The one modern branch with real continuity is the Seth Rogen era: Mutant Mayhem (2023) and its Paramount+ follow-up Tales of the TMNT, which continues the same story directly. Watch the film first, then the two seasons.
Rise of the TMNT is the one that looks most different: fast, stylized and silly, with a Netflix film that serves as its finale. The rest are self-contained and can be watched straight through on their own.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing: the four older series never crossed over, and inside the Mutant Mayhem branch the film and both Tales seasons already run in sequence. The 2007 CGI film and the live-action films of 2014 and 2016 are their own things too. Next up is Mutant Mayhem 2, dated August 13, 2027, with Shredder and Krang.
