About Top Cat
Top Cat began with Hanna-Barbera in 1961 about TC leading Benny, Choo-Choo, Brain, Fancy-Fancy and Spook against Officer Dibble in the alley. The show ran 30 episodes to 1962 with one scheme each, from the lottery to the Maharajah visit. The Mexican films Top Cat: The Movie (2011) and Begins (2015) retell the gang's origin in CGI.
Each version resets the alley cons with no shared timeline, so the originals and the films all start clean. No new series has been announced, leaving the CGI pair as the modern telling rather than a continuation.
Good to know
Start with the 1961 run for the classic alley formula, then the two films as their own origin tellings. The show is episodic around one con each, so an occasional skip harms nothing outside the finales. Later versions reuse Dibble and the gang with new voices, so treat each as its own alley run of cons.
