About Chucklefish
Chucklefish started with Starbound, a 2016 procedural space sandbox about rebuilding after Earth falls. Wargroove brought Advance Wars-style tactics with puzzle-like commanders in 2019. Eastward published Pixpil's earthy road trip in 2021.
Wargroove 2 continued the tactics series in 2023 with new roguelike conquest rules. Playing in release order shows building, tactics and story layering in turn. Starbound teaches digging and wiring that reappear as Wargroove map logic. Newcomers can start with Wargroove for shortest sessions or Eastward for story.
Good to know
Play in release order. Starbound and Wargroove do not share story, so no chronology exists across them at all. Within Wargroove, play 1 before 2 for commander unlocks. Eastward works standalone for adventure fans seeking story. Starbound suits sandbox builders who enjoy long sessions over tactics puzzles.
