About Crazy Taxi
Crazy Taxi started as a 1999 arcade cab and hit Dreamcast in January 2000 with punk fares through San Francisco hills. Crazy Taxi 2 in May 2001 added New York maps and the Crazy Hop. High Roller in 2002 on Xbox added Vegas with a 2004 PC port.
Catch a Ride in 2003 brought it to GBA, Fare Wars in 2007 packed 1 and 2 on PSP, City Rush in 2014 went free to play on phones and Tycoon in 2017 went idle. Sega announced an AAA open world multiplayer reboot in December 2023, still in work with no date as of September 2026.
Good to know
There is no story order for Crazy Taxi. Every game resets fares and combos, so release order is the only list. Start with the Dreamcast original or its ports, then 2 and High Roller for the peak. The phone games are optional. The reboot sits last with a null year until Sega dates it. That slot is ready when news lands.
