About Dead Cells
Dead Cells follows the Beheaded climbing a shifting island prison through biomes with cells and blueprints in the 2018 base game. Early runs set the flask, forge and boss cell rules across the Promenade to the Hand of the King, while unlocks carry across deaths to open new paths.
Paid expansions add the Bad Seed greenhouses, Fatal Falls towers and Queen and the Sea shipwreck through 2022, while Return to Castlevania from 2023 adds a full castle with Richter and Alucard weapons. Each pack assumes base movement is known, so they layer in release order and keep later biomes fair for returning players.
Good to know
Play the base game first to learn biomes and flask use, then Bad Seed, Fatal Falls, Queen and the Sea, then Castlevania last in release order. The bundle version includes everything and is the buy pick now for new players. The team ended support in 2024 with no sequel dated, so treat the five packs as complete and clear each boss cell tier in turn.
