About Destruction Derby
Destruction Derby starts with the 1995 original smashing stock cars across bowls and circuits. Destruction Derby 2 followed in 1996 with more tracks and damage detail.
Destruction Derby 64 arrived in 1999 on Nintendo 64 with new arenas, and Destruction Derby Arenas in 2004 on PS2. Play in release order. Each game stands alone, but the wrecking physics and points systems build across entries. Smash breakers score fastest throughout. The bowl arenas favor turning over racing. Wrecking points beat lap times in every mode.
Good to know
Play in release order. Reflections built the first two with Psygnosis publishing. The N64 entry plays differently enough to sit as its own chapter. No new entry had been announced as of October 2026, with Arenas from 2004 the latest. The N64 handling differs most. Start with the 1995 original. The PC ports match the PlayStation builds.
