About Doki Doki Literature Club
Doki Doki Literature Club is a visual novel from Team Salvato. The free original arrived September 2017 on itch and Steam with ten million downloads. Plus from June 2021 brings consoles, six side stories, 100 plus images and 26 music tracks with Serenity Forge support.
Plus keeps the main game authentic while adding hours around it. Physical editions followed with poem sheets and standees. Salvato ruled out a sequel in 2020, framing Plus as the return. Mobile builds on Plus arrived December 2025. Play original first, Plus replays it best.
Good to know
Play the 2017 original before Plus. Plus side stories assume the main horror beats known. The HD art upgrade does not change scares. Physical extras stay outside the story. No sequel exists as of October 2026 despite the Plus return. Start free, then buy Plus for extras and side stories with HD art.
