About Extremely OK Games
Extremely OK Games (EXOK) is the Vancouver studio led by Maddy Thorson and Noel Berry. TowerFall (2013) began as an Ouya exclusive archery arena game before the expanded TowerFall Ascension (2014) brought quest co-op to other platforms. Celeste (2018) followed: a precise mountain-climbing platformer starring Madeline that sold over 500,000 copies in its first year.
The free Farewell chapter (2019) closed Madeline story. The studio next project, Earthblade, was announced in 2021 and cancelled in January 2025. The team has since returned to prototyping smaller games, so the studio remains active between projects.
Good to know
Release order is the play order: TowerFall, then Celeste, then the Farewell chapter inside Celeste. Farewell is free DLC, not a separate purchase, and it assumes endgame skill. This is a studio-level guide; separate franchise posts cover TowerFall and Celeste in finer detail. Earthblade was cancelled in January 2025 after a team split, with the studio now prototyping smaller projects.
