About Eye of the Beholder
Eye of the Beholder from Westwood launched in 1990 as a first person D&D crawler under Waterdeep with a custom four party. The sewers run 20 hours with real time walls, spinner traps and Xanathar end. Legend of Darkmoon from 1991 continues to Temple Darkmoon with higher undead and new spells.
Assault on Myth Drannor from 1993 closes with Lich Acwellan across forests and ruins. All three share SSI rules with import saves and portrait keeps. No fourth was made, so the trilogy forms the set with Waterdeep saved at last.
Good to know
Play one to three in release order with the same import party since levels and items carry over directly each dungeon. Darkmoon assumes a sewers finale party around level 10 with gear. Myth Drannor needs a Darkmoon import near cap for Lich fights. Use automap sparingly for maze turns. Treat the three as closed with one Beholder dead at the end.
