About Gold Box
Gold Box from SSI launched in 1988 with Pool of Radiance in Phlan across tactical grids and tavern hires. Curse of the Azure Bonds from 1989 and Secret of the Silver Blades from 1990 continue to Myth Drannor with imports and dragon fights. Pools of Darkness from 1991 closes Forgotten Realms with god fights and planar maps.
Dragonlance Champions, Death Knights and Dark Queen run 1990 to 1992 on Krynn, plus Gateway and Treasures on Savage Frontier 1989 to 1992 with new parties. No new Gold Box was made, so the eleven form the set with pools drained and dragons down.
Good to know
Play Pool then Azure then Silver then Darkness in order with the same import party since levels and items carry over directly each saga. Krynn and Savage sagas stand apart with own imports, so play each trio in turn for clarity. Gold Box Companion helps maps and journals. Treat the eleven as closed with one pool cleansed at the end.
