About EyePet

EyePet launched on PlayStation 3 in Europe in October 2009 using the PlayStation Eye camera. The creature appears in your living room on screen, and you feed it, wash it, tickle it and show it objects for it to inspect. Drawings held up to the camera get scanned into toys the pet can use, which was the trick that sold the game.

North America skipped the original and got the Move edition in September 2010 instead, with motion controls replacing some camera gestures. A PSP port from Spiral House arrived in November 2010 with smaller scale care routines. EyePet and Friends from 2011 closes the series on PS3 with two pets on screen at once and fuller Move support. Start with the 2009 original or the Move edition and treat the rest as optional.

Good to know

Play the Move edition on PS3 if you own Move controllers, since it folds the original content into motion controls, otherwise the 2009 disc is the same game. The PSP version is a separate smaller game with its own routines. EyePet and Friends is the only true sequel and needs the PlayStation Eye plus Move. No new EyePet has appeared since 2011, so this four entry list is complete.
