About Injustice
Injustice starts when the Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane, which pushes Superman to seize control of Earth. Batman leads the resistance, and the multiverse brings in a second Earth's heroes to tip the fight.
The comics tell the five years before the first game, and the Injustice 2 comics bridge the two games. The animated film from 2021 retells the first game's Year One story in shortened form.
Play the two games in release order and read the comics first if you want the full fall of the Regime. The Ultimate Editions bundle all DLC fighters and are the versions to buy.
Good to know
Read the Gods Among Us comics before the first game, since the game opens after Superman has already won. The 2021 film changes several comic deaths and endings, so treat it as an alternate take. No Injustice 3 is announced as of October 2026, with Ed Boon calling recent playtest rumors false, so the series counts as completed.
