About Kirby
Kirby began with Kirby's Dream Land (1992) and Adventure (1993) on Game Boy and NES, establishing copy abilities. The run continued through Super Star (1996), Dream Land 3, 64 (2000), Amazing Mirror, Squeak Squad, Return to Dream Land (2011), Triple Deluxe (2014), Planet Robobot (2016) and Star Allies (2018). Kirby and the Forgotten Land (2022) brought the series into full 3D.
Recent releases include Return to Dream Land Deluxe (2023) and the Switch 2 Edition of Forgotten Land with Star-Crossed World in August 2025. Kirby Air Riders from Masahiro Sakurai launched November 20, 2025 on Switch 2 as the latest entry, with more amiibo on the way.
Good to know
Start with Forgotten Land or Planet Robobot, since both teach copy abilities from zero and need no history. The stories across games reset around Dedede or new villains, so playing out of order costs nothing beyond missing returning faces like Meta Knight. Spinoffs like Air Ride, Canvas Curse, Epic Yarn and Mass Attack are self-contained, playable any time without platformer context.
