About Konami
The guide treats each Konami line separately, because they do not share a continuity. Metal Gear runs from 1987, Silent Hill from 1999, Castlevania from 1986 and Contra from 1987, with eFootball as the live service entry.
Two 2026 releases changed the shape of it. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 launched on August 27, 2026 for Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X and S, gathering Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker with Metal Gear: Ghost Babel as a bonus. It is part of a 35th anniversary project, and Vol. 1 from 2023 already collects the first five main entries.
Castlevania: Belmont's Curse released on October 15, 2026 for Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X and S. Evil Empire developed it with advice from Motion Twin, the studio behind Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania. It is the 26th main entry, produced for the franchise's 40th anniversary, and it returns to the exploration design of Symphony of the Night with Rose Belmont entering Dracula's castle as it manifests in Paris in 1499.
Good to know
Play each line in its own release order rather than mixing them. Silent Hill f stands alone in 1960s Japan and does not need the rest, Castlevania's new entries assume the old ones, and Contra can be played in any order.
Buy Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 before Vol. 2 if you have not played the series, since Vol. 1 holds the first five main entries and Vol. 2 is the late run.
Belmont's Curse is a full main entry rather than a spin-off, and it is set over two decades after Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, so those two give it context. Motion Twin's advisory role means the Dead Cells expansion is the closest thing to a preview of how it plays.
