About League of Legends
League of Legends launched in 2009 from Riot as a 5v5 MOBA on Summoners Rift with lanes, dragons and ranked climbs. Early play sets last hits, wards and Baron calls with 40 plus champs growing past 150 over years for teams.
Teamfight Tactics arrived in 2019 as auto chess with shared Riot client, then Legends of Runeterra followed in 2020 as card battles in the same world with lore. Arcane stories sit outside play order. Start with League for Rift basics, then Tactics for econ, then Runeterra for lore cards. The client stays live with no sequel planned. Start with bots for the cleanest entry into lanes.
Good to know
Play League first to learn lanes, dragons and vision that later games quote in every set. Teamfight Tactics fits second as econ chess that reuses champs without lane stress for new players. Legends of Runeterra closes with card lore that needs champ context to enjoy. All three share one Riot account and stay live, so release order keeps systems and roster growth clear across years.
