About Life is Strange
Life is Strange follows choice-driven seasons where release order is story order for the Max saga. The 2015 original plus Before the Storm from 2017 close the Arcadia Bay arc, 2 from 2018 follows the Diaz brothers standalone, and True Colors from 2021 moves to Haven Springs.
Double Exposure from 2024 brings Max back to Caledon University, and Reunion from March 26, 2026 closes the Max and Chloe saga as its billed finale. The comics continue side stories, so the games form one path with Reunion as the current endpoint.
Good to know
Play in release order, since every game assumes the choice mechanics even where casts change. Before the Storm works as a prequel best played after the original for its full weight. Reunion closes Max and Chloe as billed, which leaves the franchise open but the saga complete, so newcomers can start knowing the headline arc already ends.
