About Mojang Studios
Mojang Studios is best known for Minecraft, which left beta with version 1.0 on November 18, 2011 for PC after its 2009 alpha. The Stockholm studio then tried smaller ideas: Scrolls, a card battler from December 11, 2014 later renamed Caller's Bane, and Cobalt, an Oxeye game Mojang published on February 2, 2016 for Steam and Xbox.
The modern era is Minecraft spinoffs. Minecraft Dungeons arrived May 26, 2020 for Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC as a co-op dungeon crawler made with Double Eleven in Unreal Engine 4. Minecraft Legends followed April 18, 2023 for PC, Switch, PlayStation and Xbox as an action strategy game made with Blackbird Interactive. Minecraft Dungeons II followed September 29, 2026 on PC, Switch, Switch 2, PS5 and Xbox, adding the Sift dimension.

Release order is play order here. The games share no single story, so start with Minecraft and move forward by year. Minecraft: Story Mode from 2015 was made by Telltale Games, not Mojang, and Minecraft Earth shut down in 2021, so neither is listed as a main step. Crown and Council is a free 2016 mini game you can try any time. Dungeons II continues the Dungeons crawler line, so play it right after the first one.
