About Motion Twin
Motion Twin co-op from Bordeaux makes action roguelites. Dead Cells entered early access May 2017 with full launch August 2018 on PC and consoles plus mobile later. DLC chain runs Rise of Giant 2019 free, Bad Seed 2020, Fatal Falls 2021, Queen and Sea 2022 and Return to Castlevania 2023 with updates to 35 ending August 2024.
Windblown entered early access October 2024 on Steam with demo carryover and 1 to 3 player co-op across five biomes. Full 1.0 is planned for 2026 with New Game Plus and new modes per February 2025 roadmap, but no exact date has landed. Evil Empire took Dead Cells over in 2019. No shared story links the two games.
Good to know
Play Dead Cells complete with DLCs in release order, then Windblown early access. Dead Cells updates stack to 35 with Castlevania last, so play base plus five DLCs as one block. Windblown biomes and weapons expand in early access toward 1.0. Keep release order and add 1.0 at the end when dated. Each game stands alone otherwise.
