About Patapon
Patapon began on PSP in late 2007 as a drum command army game marching to Pata Pata Pon. Patapon 2 from 2008 added hero classes and eggs, and Patapon 3 from 2011 moved to small squad online play with the Uberhero. Patapon 1 plus 2 Replay from July 2025 bundles the first two for Switch, PS5 and PC without the third.
Play 1, then 2, then 3 in release order. Drum timing carries forward, so skipping breaks the learning beat. Replay is the version to buy for the first two now, while 3 needs the PSP original or the 2025 Classics port.
Good to know
Replay covers only games 1 and 2, so owners still need a separate path for 3 on PSP or Classics port. The 2017 and 2020 PS4 remasters match the PSP originals with clean audio for modern screens. No Patapon 4 has been announced, so the trilogy plus Replay forms the current complete set with Bandai Namco on license.
