About Project X Zone
Project X Zone starts with the 2012 3DS crossover pairing Namco, Capcom and Sega fighters in tactical chapters. Solo and pair units from Tekken, Street Fighter, Sakura Wars and Valkyria Chronicles share one story.
Project X Zone 2: Brave New World followed in 2015 with new series like Phoenix Wright and Strider added. Play the first game before the second. The sequel assumes the crossover premise is known and moves faster through unit recruitment. Pair units combine two fighters with a solo assist for bigger combos, and the skill lists carry over.
Good to know
Play Project X Zone before Brave New World. The two tell separate crossover stories with returning systems, so the order is about mechanics rather than plot. Monolith Soft developed both with Banpresto publishing. No third entry had been announced as of October 2026. Start with the 2012 original on 3DS.
