About Rebellion

Rebellion Developments built its reputation on Sniper Elite, a slow-paced World War 2 shooter famous for its X-ray kill camera. The studio spun that ballistics work into Zombie Army, a cooperative horror offshoot using the same rifles against undead hordes. Both series received regular sequels that refined traversal and invasion multiplayer.

Atomfall arrived in 2025 as a survival-action detour set in a fictionalized 1960s Cumbria quarantine zone. It reuses Rebellion's scavenging and long-range combat but drops the linear mission structure for open exploration. Playing Sniper Elite first explains why Atomfall's shooting feels familiar even though its setting and objectives differ sharply.

Good to know

Play in release order, grouping by series. Start with Sniper Elite 5 for modern controls if the 2005 original feels too dated, then return for Zombie Army Trilogy before Atomfall. The games share mechanics rather than story, so skipping an entry will not confuse the next plot. Atomfall works standalone and can be played first by survival fans who do not enjoy military shooters.
