About Sony

Sony Interactive built its identity on single-player epics from internal studios. God of War brought brutal combo combat in 2005. Uncharted added climbing and quips in 2007. The Last of Us raised survival stakes in 2013. Horizon Zero Dawn opened the formula to robot wilderness in 2017.

Spider-Man swung the same systems through Manhattan in 2018, while Ghost of Tsushima closed the PlayStation 4 run with open-field duels in 2020. Playing in release order shows climbing, crafting and companion banter evolving across teams. Newcomers can start with any recent remaster, since stories are standalone despite shared design language.

Good to know

Play in release order. Sony's universes do not connect, so no story chronology exists across franchises. Within each series, play numerically: God of War before Ragnarok, Uncharted 1 through 4, Horizon Zero Dawn before Forbidden West. The list uses first entries to keep the path short. Later sequels and PC ports slot directly after their originals.
