About Splinter Cell
Splinter Cell follows Sam Fisher from the 2002 original through Blacklist in 2013 across six main games: Pandora Tomorrow in 2004, Chaos Theory in 2005 as the fan peak, Double Agent in 2006 with its cover system, Conviction in 2010 with mark and execute, and Blacklist in 2013 leading Fourth Echelon. Release order is story order throughout Fisher's Third Echelon years.
Deathwatch from October 2025 continues Fisher decades later in animation with Liev Schreiber voicing, confirmed canon to the games and renewed for season 2 a day after premiering. A full remake of the 2002 original at Ubisoft Toronto on Snowdrop was announced in 2021 with no updates since. Play the six games first; Deathwatch assumes Fisher's legend and works as the current endpoint.
Good to know
Play the six main games in release order. Chaos Theory is the high point the rest are measured against, and Conviction's speed only makes sense after the slower trilogy. Essentials is skippable unless completism calls. Deathwatch comes last: it picks up decades after Blacklist with an older Fisher and expects the games known. The remake has no date after four silent years, so treat the original as the only version for now.
