About Star Wars Racer
Star Wars Episode I Racer from May 1999 opens with 25 pods across eight worlds, built by LucasArts beside the film. Watto upgrades and split screen made it the best selling sci fi racer. Ports reached Dreamcast and more.
Star Wars Racer Revenge from February 2002 continues on PS2 as Sebulba hunts Anakin eight years on, built by Rainbow Studios. No third game followed, though an arcade cut sits between. A 2020 HD port keeps the original alive. Play the 1999 original first. Aspyr ported the original to modern systems in 2020.
Good to know
Release order is the speed order from Boonta to revenge. Start with the 1999 original for the full 25 pods. Revenge trims the roster but adds kills. The arcade cut is optional between them. The 2020 port plays modern on Switch and PS4. Watto upgrades return for tinkerers everywhere it goes, with shortcuts to master.
