About SteamWorld
SteamWorld follows steambots across genre hopping adventures in the same rusted world. Dig from 2013 has Rusty mining Vectron tech, while Dig 2 from 2017 follows Dorothy hunting him with tighter metroidvania maps.
Heist from 2015 plus Heist 2 from 2024 cover Piper then Leeway pirate tactics with ricochet shots, Quest from 2019 adds card battles, and Build from 2023 adds city sim rocket work. Tower Defense from 2010 starts the run. Play in release order. The announced Headhunter action entry is on hold, so the seven released games are the full list.
Good to know
Release order tracks mechanics as they were built, because Dig teaches mining that Dig 2 refines and Heist teaches tactics that Heist 2 expands. Quest and Build branch genres but reuse the bot world without spoiling others. Tower Defense is a short origin. Headhunter stays on hold with no date, so play the seven released games first and add it last if dated.
