About Take-Two

Take-Two Interactive publishes through Rockstar Games and 2K. Grand Theft Auto started top-down crime in 1997 before moving to 3D cities. Red Dead Revolver brought western duels in 2004. BioShock added plasmid powers to shooter corridors in 2007.

Borderlands mixed guns and loot with cel shading in 2009. Grand Theft Auto V scaled the city sim to three protagonists in 2013. Red Dead Redemption 2 closed the run so far with camp simulation in 2018. Playing in release order shows open-world density growing while shooter loot loops mature in parallel. Newcomers can start with GTA V or Red Dead 2 directly.

Good to know

Play in release order. Rockstar and 2K universes do not connect, so no cross-franchise chronology exists. Within each series, play numerically: GTA 3 through 5 before 6, Red Dead Revolver before Redemption 1 and 2, BioShock 1 through Infinite. The list uses key entries to stay short. Grand Theft Auto VI will slot after Red Dead 2 once it releases.
