About Tales from Borderlands
Tales from the Borderlands from 2014 follows Rhys and Fiona across five Telltale episodes on a vault key con. New Tales from the Borderlands from 2022 follows Anu, Octavio and Fran as new nobodies in the same world with all five parts at once. Stories stand alone outside small cameos.
Play the 2014 season then New Tales. The second works without the first, but Rhys and Fiona callbacks land better in order. No third Tales is announced with focus on Borderlands 4, so the pair forms the complete branch.
Good to know
The Telltale season plays episodically with saves that carry across its five parts, while New Tales ships whole. Tone stays comic heist throughout both runs. With no DLC story to place, the two games close the Tales line cleanly for Pandora fans. Gearbox Software oversees Pandora lore with returning vault hunter cameos.
