About The Sinking City
The Sinking City from Frogwares launched June 27, 2019 on PC and PS4 about detective Reed in flooded Oakmont with Great Old Ones visions. Remastered arrived May 13, 2025 on PS5 and Series in Unreal 5. The Sinking City 2 launched August 18, 2026 on PC and PS5 in Arkham survival horror.
Stories share mythos with new cases, so either works first, but release order shows investigation to horror shift. The first runs 20 hours with open case boards, the sequel runs 15 hours with tighter scares. No third game has been dated, so these two plus remaster are the set.
Good to know
Play the 2019 original or Remastered first for Oakmont rules, then sequel for Arkham payoff. Remastered is free for owners and fixes lighting. The sequel needs PS5 or Series for Unreal 5 stability. Both carry M ratings for gore and madness. Start on normal for clue boards without missing side drowners.
