About THQ Nordic
THQ Nordic rebuilt its catalog by acquiring and reviving dormant action series. Darksiders brought Zelda-like dungeons with apocalyptic riders in 2010. Its sequel expanded loot in 2012. Destroy All Humans returned in a 2020 remake that kept the 1950s alien invasion jokes.
Biomutant tried open-world kung-fu fable in 2021. Alone in the Dark rebooted survival horror in 2024 with a 1920s manor mystery. Playing in release order shows remake craft improving from straight ports to fuller reimaginings. Newcomers can start with any single series, since universes do not connect.
Good to know
Play in release order. The franchises are separate, so no story order exists across them. Within Darksiders, play 1 through 3 before Genesis. Destroy All Humans remake stands alone from the originals for newcomers. Biomutant and Alone in the Dark work first for players who prefer new settings over sequels.
