About Yoshi
Yoshi started December 1991 on NES and Game Boy as a puzzle game from Game Freak. Island in August 1995 on SNES follows Baby Mario, with Story in December 1997 on N64. Topsy-Turvy in 2004, Touch and Go in 2005 and Island DS in 2006 carry handhelds.
New Island in 2014, Woolly World in 2015 with 3DS port in 2017 and Crafted World in March 2019 continue the crafts style. Mysterious Book arrived May 2026 on Switch 2 as announced in the September 2025 Direct. Puzzle spinoffs like Cookie and Safari sit outside. Play in release order for mechanics.
Good to know
Island games tell Baby Mario earliest days even though they released after the 1991 puzzle original, so strict story order would start at Island. The guide still recommends release order to show platforming evolving. Mysterious Book from 2026 is the latest and the series stays active. Cookie, Safari and Tetris Attack are optional spinoffs.
