About Klonoa
Klonoa starts in 1997 with Door to Phantomile on PlayStation as a 2.5D platform run with Huepow ring grabs. Lunatea’s Veil from 2001 continues on PS2 with new kingdoms and a sadder close. The handheld Empire of Dreams and Dream Traveller of Noctis Sol keep the same grab play in smaller maps.
Beach Volleyball from 2002 is a party spinoff outside canon. Phantasy Reverie Series from 2022 remakes the two main games with tuned difficulty. Each dream resets cast and world, so no plot thread runs through all entries beyond Klonoa himself.
Good to know
Play Door to Phantomile first, either original or Reverie version, then Lunatea’s Veil for the core duology. Handheld entries suit completists after the pair. Skip Beach Volleyball on a story run. No new Klonoa had been dated as of September 2026, so Reverie stands as the modern entry point for now.
