About Assault on Precinct 13
Assault on Precinct 13 (1976) stars Stoker as Bishop defending a closing station with Darwin Joston, made for two hundred thousand and revived at London festivals. Carpenter writes, directs and scores the Rio Bravo transposed siege.
Assault on Precinct 13 (2005) remakes it with Hawke as Roenick and Fishburne as Bishop against corrupt officers, directed by Jean Francois Richet. The snowstorm setup replaces gang logic with dirty cop siege. Watch the 1976 film first for station defense rules, then the 2005 version as a companion with the same beats.
Good to know
Release order is the recommended path since the 2005 film retells the 1976 siege rather than continuing it. Start with 1976 for Bishop convict alliance setup that defines the station. The remake runs 109 minutes with expanded precinct cast, so treat it as second viewing. No third Precinct film is planned.
