About Bill and Ted
Bill and Ted began with Excellent Adventure (1989) sending the San Dimas duo through history in a phone booth to pass class. Bogus Journey (1991) kills them off to the afterlife before the Battle of the Bands. Face the Music (2020) reunites middle-aged Bill and Ted with their daughters finishing the song that unites reality.
The animated series ran two seasons from 1990 with Keanu Reeves voicing Ted early, and the live-action series lasted one season in 1992. No fourth film has been announced, with the creators saying Face the Music closes the song's prophecy by design.
Good to know
Watch the three films in release order, since the princess marriages and the daughters assume the full history. Bogus Journey plays darker than its bookends with the robot doubles, so expect a tone swing in the middle. The cartoons retell the phone-booth fun without continuing the plot, safe as extras after the trilogy.
