About The Croods
The Croods from 2013 follows Eep and her cave family as Grug loses control when Guy shows a world beyond the cave. The Croods A New Age from 2020 pits them against the Betterman family over walls, farms and daughters. Both films track the same move toward tomorrow with the Belt on top.
Watch the 2013 film then the 2020 sequel. The Dawn of the Croods series and the Family Tree series retell or extend early years for younger viewers but are not required for the films. No third film has been announced, with DreamWorks focused on other slates through 2027.
Good to know
Release order matches story order with no gaps to fill between the two features at all. The TV shows reuse the cast at younger ages and can contradict film beats, so treat them as side canon for kids. The two films run under two hours each and pair well as a single family night rather than a long saga.
