About Cube
Cube traps strangers in a lethal maze of numbered rooms with no memory setup. The 1997 original runs one group through prime number traps, Hypercube in 2002 adds four dimensional tesseracts, Zero in 2004 rewinds to the operators watching outside, and the 2021 Japanese remake retells the original with new engineers.
Watch in release order since Hypercube assumes the first room rules and Zero answers the watcher question. The remake plays as an alternate telling rather than a sequel, so treat it last on a first pass. No fifth cube has been dated, which leaves the four films as the closed set.
Good to know
Release order keeps trap reveals intact with prime rooms first and operators last. Watch the 1997 film for Leaven math before Hypercube bends physics. Zero works best third as a prequel flashback rather than first, because it spoils the watcher reveal by design. Treat the 2021 remake as optional alternate rather than required, and the run as complete for now.
