About Den of Thieves
Den of Thieves is a two film heist series starring Gerard Butler as detective Big Nick O'Brien. Den of Thieves from 2018 pits Nick's loose unit against Donnie's crew as they plan a Federal Reserve robbery in Los Angeles. Den of Thieves 2: Pantera from January 2025 follows Nick to Europe, where he rejoins Donnie for a diamond heist.
The sequel continues the cat and mouse bond forged in the first film, so release order is the viewing order. Watch the 2018 original before the 2025 Pantera run for the Nick and Donnie dynamic to track. The pair plays as one rivalry turned partnership across two heists.
Good to know
Watch the 2018 film before Pantera from 2025, since Nick and Donnie's rivalry turned partnership drives the sequel. The first film's crew and double crosses set up every alliance in Europe. Both films run long with tactical shootouts, so space the double feature. Two films in release order complete the heist series so far.
